Runway | Tommy x Zendaya : The Fashion Patterns
After a hugely successful show in Paris Fashion Week, Hilfiger took his second collection with Zendaya back to New York Fashion Week this season. Continuing the brand's "see-now, buy-now" model, TommyNow gives consumers access to purchase their favorite items as soon as the collection hits the runway.
Houndstooth, polka dot, tartan, stripe, animal print - nothing we hadn't seen before, yet, TommyxZendaya managed to highlight a mixture of these patterns to bring us something exceptional that screamed personality and representation. Taking inspiration from the 70s and block parties, TommyxZendaya paid tribute to the noted culture and history of Harlem's African-Amerian artists by staging the show at the iconic Apollo. As if it weren't enough, the duo curated author and culture historian Nichelle Gainer's installation for the tunnel to immerse guests in the whole experience. With meticulously tailored pieces and a diverse cast of models, the collection truly celebrated "the strength that comes from fearlessly being your true self," as Hilfiger stated.
Besides the lavishing runway, front row guests including Veronica Webb, Noor Tagouri, Bella and Gigi Hadid, Euphoria costars Barbie Ferreira, Hunter Schafer, Sydney Sweeney, and more - were present to support the much-anticipated show.
